PRAYERS FOR THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH
Amazing Father,
today I belong to you!
You draw me into the heart
of your sheltering love,
to a special place where -
not alone, not forsaken, not forgotten -
I belong!
Lord Jesus,
today I belong with you!
You call me by my name,
you show me my brothers and sisters.
We are one family, in you:
members of the one household,
sheep nurtured in your flock,
fruitful branches in your living vine,
precious stones being built
into a temple of your praise.
I belong!
Holy Spirit by your mighty power,
today, through your enabling, I belong:
an obedient soldier in your army,
a vital cell in
Christ’s body,
a willing citizen in God’s coming Kingdom,
in community with all the saints who pray,
'Come Lord Jesus.'
I belong!

Unite us in your love.
Heal our brokenness with your compassion.
Breathe new life into our faltering faith.
Shatter our complacency with your urgency.
Humble our pride with your poverty.
Penetrate our confusion with your simplicity.
Gather us afresh as little brothers and
sisters,
walking together with you, Our Lord,
guided by the Spirit’s wisdom,
perfectly aligned to the Father’s will,
looking for the coming of Your Kingdom.
