A WEEK OF PRAYER
Prisons Week aims to encourage prayer and
awareness of the needs of prisoners and their families, victims of offenders,
prisons staff and all those who care, reflected in the Prisons Week Prayer
offered throughout the week:
Lord, you offer freedom to all people.
We pray for those in prison.
Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist.
Support with your love prisoners and their families and friends,
prison staff and all who care.
Heal those who have been wounded by the activities
of others, especially the victims of crime.
Help us to forgive one another.
To act justly, love mercy and walk humbly together with Christ
in His strength and in His Spirit, now and every day. Amen.

Pray
for Prison Officers and all who work with prisoners
Father,
Your Word says that we as Prison Officers and all those who work in prisons are
overcomers because of the blood of the Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the
word of our testimony - that in Jesus, all the fullness of the Deity lives in
bodily form and we have been given fullness in Christ and share in His
authority over every spiritual power and authority! But we confess that we do
not feel like overcomers and we often give-in to the influences of this world
instead of submitting to Christ.
O God, save us from
ourselves! May we be full of Your Spirit and Your mighty power- the power of
the resurrection! Teach us and use us, that we might be those who see
strongholds demolished in our lives and help others to walk in freedom. Thank
You Father, that because we belong to You in Christ Jesus, You surround us with
Your presence- that You are a wall of fire around us. You O Lord are our refuge
and our strength. In every situation and struggle, You are with us. We will not
be afraid for our trust is in Your Name.

Like Joshua, may we be confident that You are with us and will never leave or forsake us. By Your Spirit at work in us make us to be strong and courageous, to not be afraid or discouraged, but always mindful that You are with us wherever we go. Use us to take back ground that the enemy has stolen. Help us to be self-controlled and alert, knowing that the enemy of our souls is prowling, looking for an opportune moment.
In Jesus’ name, strengthen us to submit to You, resist the enemy and to stand firm in our faith! Give us we pray, Your perspective of the situations we face and may we live victoriously, as conquerors, because of Jesus and His love for us. May we be full of faith, and Your Word, for we belong to You Lord Jesus, and You have overcome the world! [Pray the Word]
