for Pastors
We pray
that all pastors who shepherd their flock will be passionate and wholehearted,
always sincere and always speaking the truth and that their hearts are
trustworthy, refusing to slander or insult others; not listening to gossip or
rumours, nor would they ever harm another with their words. Ps.
15:2-3 Passion
They will speak out passionately against evil
and evil workers while commending the faithful who follow after the truth. They
will make firm commitments and follow through, even at great cost. They never
crush others with exploitation or abuse and they would never be bought with a
bribe against the innocent. They will never be shaken; they will stand firm
forever. [Ps.
15:4-5 Passion]
Keep them safe, O mighty God, as they run for dear life to You, their Safe
Place. [Ps. 16:1 Passion]
We praise and thank You that they will
continue to praise You as their Maker, their Mediator, and their Master, that
all good things You find in them has come from You. Ps.
16:2
As they choose You alone as their
inheritance. You will be their prize, their pleasure, and their portion. Leaving
their destiny and its timing in your hands,
Your pleasant path will lead them to pleasant places, overwhelmed by the privileges that come with
following You, for You have given them the best! [Ps.
16:5-6 Passion]
The
way you counsel and correct them makes them praise You more, for Your whispers
in the night give them wisdom, showing them what to do next. Because you are
close to them and always available, their confidence will never be shaken, for
they experience your wrap-around presence every moment.
[Ps. 16:7-8 Passion]
Their
hearts and souls explode with joy—full of glory! Even their bodies will rest
confident and secure. For You will not abandon them to the realm of death nor
will You allow Your Holy Ones to experience corruption. For You bring them a
continual revelation of resurrection life, the path to the bliss that brings them
face-to-face with You. [Ps.
16:9-11 Passion] Amen
